BBC1 produces three products from its Zigzag kiln in Bhuna, Haryana. Each has a specific application — using the wrong product increases costs and can create structural issues.
1. Dabbi (Frog) Wire-Cut Brick
Dimensions: 235×106×75 mm | Standard: IS 1077
The Dabbi brick is BBC1's primary product and accounts for the majority of output. The "frog" is a rectangular indent on the top face that:
- Reduces brick weight by ~8–10% without affecting strength
- Creates a stronger mortar key when filled during laying
- Reduces material cost per wall vs solid bricks
Best for: Load-bearing walls, non-load-bearing walls, boundary walls, residential and commercial construction at all scales.
2. 3-Hole Grill Brick
Dimensions: 235×106×75 mm | Feature: Three cylindrical holes through the header face
Grill bricks are used for decorative and ventilated applications:
- Compound boundary walls with visual pattern
- Ventilated screens for courtyard walls
- Decorative garden walls and fence panels
- Sun-shading screens on building facades
Best for: Non-load-bearing decorative applications. Not recommended for structural load-bearing walls.
3. Clay Roof Tile
Dimensions: 320×140×30 mm (approx.) | Type: Country tile / Mangalore-style
BBC1 clay tiles are traditional interlocking roofing tiles used across Haryana and Rajasthan residential construction:
- Excellent thermal mass — keeps interiors cooler in summer
- Traditional aesthetic popular in village and semi-urban construction
- Lower cost than metal or concrete roofing for moderate spans
Best for: Residential sloping roofs, farm structures, guesthouses, and heritage-style construction.
Ordering Mixed Loads
Many projects require a combination — for example, Dabbi bricks for structural walls plus grill bricks for a decorative compound wall. BBC1 accommodates mixed product orders on the same truck for projects within the local delivery zone.
